Special Parents, Exceptional Children, Involved, Advocating, Learning.
Founded in 2011 by Angela Fish, our Tacoma Support Group is a parent support group for families with special needs children.
Our goals are:
-to network
-strengthen our special needs community
-learn from one another and expert speakers
-better advocate for our children
We are a family support group inclusive of diagnosis. We encourage professionals and interested community members to also join. Our families are dealing with autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, ADD/ADHD, mental health, and other diagnoses.

We are a family support group inclusive of diagnosis. We encourage professionals and interested community members to also join. Our families are dealing with autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, ADD/ADHD, mental health, and other diagnoses.

We do our best to provide speakers and topics that are of interest to our exceptional families. Our belief is that there are always opportunities to learn, whether the information is "traditional" or not. Parents are encouraged to ask questions and draw their own conclusions that are appropriate for their family.
We began meeting in the Spanaway/Parkland area in 2008, finding a nice home for our meetings at the Pierce County Library Processing and Administration Center. In November 2013, we relocated to the Children's Museum of Tacoma in downtown Tacoma. The Tacoma group has become very popular due to the availability of childcare.
