Educational Advocacy

Picture
Individualized Education Plans, or IEP's, can be one of the most stressful components of raising a child with special needs. Parents struggle with how to navigate the educational process, and all of the legal jargon, while helping their child have a successful school experience. Parents in our network consistently identify special education advocacy as one of the largest areas of need for their families. Our goal is to empower you with knowledge and tools so that you become a more informed and effective advocate for your child.

Helen Caldart, Educational Advocate Trainer, has developed workshops, downloadable resources, and worksheets to assist all.

Workshops include:
  • Did You Know?!
  • What to Expect Before, During & After an IEP Meeting
  • Behaviors & Discipline: Understanding Suspensions & Expulsions
  • When You & the District Disagree
  • Advocacy for Teens: How to Own Your IEP
  • How to Write a Citizen Complaint

Helen Caldart is also available to conduct paid training sessions for: groups of parents,  school administrators and teachers/school staff.
